Call to Action: Family Act 2011, The Infertility Tax Credit

July 18, 2011 by admin.

Do you have insurance that covers 100% of all of your infertility expenses?  Of course not, no one does.. or at least no one that I have ever met does.  Even if you have coverage, you have probably spent more than a few dollars on medications, treatments, co-pays and other types of charges relating to infertility. This act is the first step in getting people with uncovered infertility related expenses a decent tax break!

I know we are all super busy so I am going to make this easy with the help of RESOLVE!

1) Click the link and submit a letter to your local senator: Please Co-Sponsor a Bill to help build families.  You will have the choice to email, fax or print the letter.(Scroll about half way down the page)

2) Ask EVERYONE you know to do the same.  We make a difference by coming together as a community.  Ask your family, friends and co-workers to contact their local senator.  Ask for support through facebook, twitter, email, blog and forums to spread the word!

I was blessed to have insurance coverage that covered the majority of my infertility related expenses.  But I know I spent thousands myself on medications, co-pays and things like acupuncture and supplements. I also know that what we spent pales in comparison to those that do not have insurance coverage.  It breaks my heart to know that literally what stands between some people and their dreams boils down to $$$!

Even though I had coverage, I am sending a letter to tell my senators that I was able to have a child because I was one of the lucky ones that had insurance coverage unlike so many couples out there.. this is the one opportunity they have to build a family of their own!  Please support this ACT!!

Every dollar counts, this is too easy to not do.  Thanks!

My Hopeful Journey has the ability to track the cost of infertility related expenses by category (appointment, medication, procedures, labs, etc.).  We are already developing reports to help you track and budget your infertility expenses! If the Family Act is passed we will customize reports to make it extremely easy for you to calculate your annual infertility expenses to simpl-IF-y your tax returns to maximize this credit!
